We finally had some rain overnight (.30 of an inch) which we haven’t seen in 10 days which was quite a stretch of sunny and warm days.
From Slim yesterday:
Talking about the clouds with 61% of possible sunshine yesterday was the cloudiest day since June 11th (note the average amount of possible sunshine in June here at Grand Rapids is 62%) But since June 11th Grand Rapids has had a whopping 96% of possible sunshine. That includes 3 days at 100% 3 days at 99% 1 day at 97% 1 day at 96%. I guess you could say we have dried out nicely in the last 10 days.
As I said we had .30 of an inch overnight which brings our local total to 2.10 inches for the month. Looking at long-range forecasts we have close to a 70% chance of above-normal temps with near equal chances of above, near or below-normal precipitation to close out June into the first week of July.
Another thing we haven’t seen in our stretch of nearly windless days is a Beach Hazards Statement from the NWS which covers all the lakeshore counties from Ludington to St Joseph for waves 4 to 7 feet.
Sunny and 72 degrees, perfect! To bad we can’t stay this way for more than a day at a time before the heat builds back in.
Currently 57* degrees out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE feels wonderful outside for the end of June ….INDY
Just another below normal temp day in west mi!
Unbelievable heat in Siberia inside the Arctic Circle as temps top 100 degrees! Hardly seems possible.

That reported high of 100.4° F (a reported 38° C) broke the record for the highest reading above the Arctic Circle old record of a reported 100° F (37.8C) reported on June 27, 1915 at Fort Yukon, AL. Here is a fun fact in Fairbanks, AL there was a reported heat wave in July of 1919 when 10 days in a row of much hotter than average highs were reported. On July 26th the high was 89 then on the 27th 91 on the 28th 99 on the 29th 95 on the 30th 88 on the 31st 84 on August… Read more »
Wow! That would be impressive in this area, but up there almost sounds apocalyptic!
We were at the beach near Pentwater yesterday and seen this awesome looking cloud roll in. When it came over the temp dropped 10 degrees, there was a little wind gust, but no rain.

Awesome! Saw Glen Arbor area had an even better wall cloud yesterday.
Sweet pics, Barry! I am enjoying today. It’s nice to give the A/C a rest and open the windows for a change.
Cool Barry !
We had rain as well, but only 0.03” which hardly made the ground wet. Looked like we might get some decent rain on the radar, but it all just disappeared as it came over.
So glad for the rain we finally received. Our garden has been thirsty!!!!
Not much rain here last night. I recorded only 0.07″ of rain. Currently it is cloudy and 67.
