We are beginning to see a cooler air mass moving into the area. After seeing multiple days with morning temps in the low 70s we are currently 64 here in Otsego at 5am. The big story is the falling dewpoints which creates more tolerable living conditions outside.
Yesterday evening we had a cell setup over Otsego which gave us .70 of an inch of rain which was needed as we had been mainly dry over the past couple weeks with only a few 1/100ths of an inch of hit or miss showers. To the left is my CoCoRaHS report for the past couple weeks.
We had the hose out using well water to hydrate all off our flowers and veggies the past week – they prefer rain but will take what they get when it dries out.
I have some banana peppers and Roma tomatoes almost ready to pick – there is nothing better than home grown picked fresh from your own garden. I have already been eating green onions – when I pick one I plant a new bulb in the ground to keep a constant source right up to frost time. This has been a good year for gardens and flowers.
We have wild black berry bushes along our north fence which propagate further into the property every year – we eat a few of them but the birds get most of them.
Temps today will be in the low to mid 80s with the showers and storms mainly along and south of I94 – tonight we will see mid 50s (!) – tomorrow will be pleasant with low dew points and mostly sunny skies….

Looks like another heat wave building in starting next weekend. 7 days in a row near or above 90 degrees. Thankfully we will be up in the mountains out West at that time so let the heat scorch away!

Final day the lake. Finally some wind. It is beautiful out. It has been hot and humid with no wind since Wednesday.

I also have the ac off and windows open, here in Michigan we have many days of dont have too in the summer and that can last into mid October. Dont have to means dont have to have the air on and dont have to have the heat on. But come late November into April we will have to have the heat on just about every day
