We ended up with trace amounts of rain for most of Allegan County – seems there is a dome over us. We have gone 16 days since our last decent rain. I ran into a few sprinkles driving to Allegan yesterday but that was it. The feature image shows yesterdays rainfall. Some areas are picking up some decent precipitation others not so much.
The excessive heat and humidity will be gone today, temperatures are dropping to 10° lower than we have seen over the first half of the month.
An area of high pressure will settle in on the region today and stay over the area into Thursday. This system will provide the region with a dry airmass. Temperatures will end up cooler than normal with large diurnal fluctuations in the temperatures forecasted. Meaning we will see temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 dipping into the 50s at night. Time to let the air conditioners take a break.
We have a low pressure system moving into the region Friday on through the weekend which should help with our dry conditions bringing widespread rains over the state. I am looking forward to it, though on the positive side I haven’t had to mow my lawn in two weeks.
There are red flag warnings from St Joseph to Grand Haven for waves 3 to 6 feet. Most drownings in Lake Michigan occur with wave heights similar to these. Piers may also be over topped by waves.
Gorgeous day today! I am savoring it because we leave for Arkansas and Missouri Sunday. Lots of humidity down there.
While Grand Rapids may or may not reach 90 again this summer it looks like that will not happen the rest of July. Of course it still looks dry so later in August there is a chance of that happening.

ROCKY (Rockford)
Will it hit 90 degrees in GR tomorrow? Will it hit 90 degrees in GR the rest of this summer?
REPLY
8 days 16 hours ago
Then after that statement was made, 4 of the 8 days had high temps in the 90’s!!
That was one of the many horrible predictions by Rocky so far this summer!
WOOD now has 88 degrees and humidity returning early next week. What happened to the cold?
Wood tv will end up 100% wrong! Do you have any more questions?
That 88° next week looks unlikely

Lk Michigan water temps are off the chart. Warmer than the usual summer peak (which isn’t for at least another month).
