The word for today is “wet”. We have rain falling across the lower half of the Lower Penninsula this morning. Don’t know how much we have because our digital gauge isn’t reading, probably a leaf blocking the drain bucket and I haven’t ventured out to read the analog – it’s pouring rain here at this time. We can expect scattered showers through tomorrow morning at least. Temps will remain in the 60s through Thursday.

Forecast Discussion
- Widespread rain and thunder today Current radar showing a solid area of rain and embedded thunder moving into Lower Michigan with area of mid-level frontogenesis and elevated instability. The rain stretches back to Iowa along a baroclinic zone associated with a stalled front. We expect over an inch of rain across much of the forecast area by this afternoon with some higher amounts in local areas of deeper convection. Severe weather is not expected although model soundings show mid level lapse rates that would support updrafts that would produce small hail. - Low chance of showers Wednesday Favorable jet dynamics move east this afternoon but deep moisture remains along with a baroclinic zone through Wednesday with scattered showers. Surface ridging builds in for Thursday and Friday before POPs increase again for the weekend as upper low across the Southern Plains opens up and moves through the Great Lakes. Cold front should be through on Sunday with fair weather returning after that.

Denver hit 101 Saturday (incredibly, they were only +13 degrees for the day) and now they are at 34 and looking at accumulating snow. That is absolutely amazing.
Sounds awesome!
It is looking like for the 2nd day in a row the high for the day will come in the overnight hours. Yesterday the high of 77 occurred just before 2 AM and for today the high so far of 61 occurred at 1 AM. You see this a lot in the cold season but not that often in the warm season. At this time it is cloudy and 56 here and the last reading at GRR was 57.
Slim
Slim there is a cold brezze outside bundle up for your walk this afternoon it’s chilly outside …INDY
Despite the warm weather hype, 3 out of the last 4 days we have seen below normal temps and today will be well below normal and below normal all week! We are in quite a cool stretch! Enjoy he forget about summer baby! Winter will be rocking this year.
Hype? You must have missed Slims post last week. 60 some of the last 90 days were above, and that’s the facts, no hype. And don’t forget 7 or 8 of the last 9 months were above to. Unless Of course you’re calling Slims stats false as well. Odds are eventually we would have to have some time below average as I doubt it can go on forever.
And the 14th through the 20th is for below normal temps above average days what above average days lol…..INDY
Currently 53* degrees out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE of GR with more rain moving into west Michigan look likes another inch maybe 2 in Grand Rapids area soon all this rain will be snow and Winter will be kicking hard …INDY
For all the posts on how cold the start of September was going to be, yesterday was just another above average day for the 4th day out of 7. How can this be??

Finally some rain! 0.86” here, and like Mark said, where was this rain a month ago? Haven’t had to mow in over 3 weeks with everything brown and dried up. Might actually have to get it back out later this week when things start to grow again. Must have had some wind as well overnight as a tree came down out back in the yard.
I don’t know about the wind Monday night but I know it was very windy around here on Sunday night. I took the dog out for last call and was surprised by the wind. I think it was about 50 mph. I had very large flower pots that were on their side. Last night we had some run of the mill thundershowers with alot of lightning.
Currently 53* degrees out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE of GR put another log on the fire love it feels great outside ….INDY

We have gone through 2 analog (think cheapee glass gauge) over the last 2 months, so I don’t know how much we have had in Hamilton, but gauging by the squish of the grass when I took my dog out, we have had at least .5 to 1 inch?
