We had .24 of an inch of rain overnight in Otsego. We will have a period of slightly below normal temps for the rest of the week with daytime highs in the upper 70s and overnight temps in the mid to upper 50s. Dew point values will be in the 50s so we will have a very pleasant period to be outside.
Today I will be installing another HD webcam which will face the southwest – this one will be a wide angle camera. I don’t have a good angle to get a shot of the sky due to all the trees which surround my property. I love my trees so they won’t be coming down unless we have a tornado, let’s hope that doesn’t happen. This will be an addition to the HD camera I have facing the northeast in my backyard. With two cameras I will have a view of most of my property. I will let you know when the live feeds go up here.
There is an outside chance of showers come Saturday night into Sunday. Our next chance will be next Tuesday as a more zonal unsettled pattern sets up.
We got a little rain this morning. It’s fantastic out now. It’s a windows open kinda night.
74* degrees out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE of GR beautiful Summer evening I would suspect temps in the low 50’s tonight taste of Fall in the air get the hoodies out love it ..Have a super night INDY
What a great summer! Only one minor heat wave and plenty of comfortable temps! Who would have thought?
Well if a month and a half of crazy high to record breaking dew points is comfortable for you, bully for you. Not so much for the rest of us.
We only had a few humid days and the rest have been absolutely perfect!
Now that’s funny! Go back and check the stats, almost non stop days with dew points over 60, and many over 70. MV posted a chart a few weeks ago which was perfect. Anything over 60 DP = uncomfortable.
CPC and CFS are both showing another warm spell after August 15th.
Since June 21 there have been 48 days in a row that have been 78 or warmer. As far as I can tell the record number of days in a row of 78 or warmer is 55 in the summer of 1931. At this time Grand Rapids is in 2nd place of the made up contest with that 48. 1955 and 1916 in a 3rd place tie with 45 and 2012 in 5th place with 44. Hey Grand Rapids might set a new record this year!

That is a long stretch of warm to hot temps! Usually we get a day or two where it’ll be overcast and cooler, but not this year. Guess today will be #49 as temps are into the 80s again. Nice work Slim!
The cooler air and breeze here feel refreshing this morning. During the night it rained heavily. I am not sure how much we got. The sun was out this morning but clouds have moved in.

Humid out again this morning. 5 days of above average temps in a row and counting.
0.45” of rain last night! That’s more than we’ve had here in total since the end of June. Another hot and humid day yesterday. Driving to Grandville the car thermometer hit 90 and my PWS hit 89. Still humid this morning with a dew point of 68.
Just 0.24″ of rain here last night. With cloudy skies the current temperature here is 66.

Since June 21 a total of 48 days the coolest high here in Grand Rapids has been 78. 42 of the days have been 80 or better. The warmest high so far this summer has been 92. Yesterday the question was asked if Rocky and Indy were the same person the short answer is no they are not the same person not any more then Mookie and Barry and or Jeff are the same person.
