Yesterday turned out to be a nice one – I took the day off to get the lawns mowed. I am using up my accumulated vacation days before I retire in a couple months so I work four days a week now. With all the years I have worked at Perrigo I get nearly six hours of vacation time they give me per week plus what I have banked so as I get into next month I will probably go down to three days a week. I would rather use them up now than have to pay the higher tax rate of a payout. I will be training my replacement soon so they won’t be empty handed when I am gone.
There are a lot of hoops to jump to when one wants to retire mainly insurance and social security plus moving 401k funds from one company to another. Insurance is the scary part because I can’t get into Medicare for another two years but my 401k has been good to me so I will manage.
A weak front approaching from the west today will interact with warm and humid conditions to trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, none are expected to be severe. Some of the slow moving storms may produce locally heavy rainfall.
A few showers or storms may linger through noon Wednesday before a second cold front ushers in slightly cooler and less humid air. We will finish out the week with dry and comfortable conditions Thursday and Friday, before very warm and humid weather moves in for the weekend.
Looking at the long term I believe the summer will turn out near normal both rain and temp wise.
2 of the last 3 months have seen below normal temps! INCREDIBLE!
And somewhere around 27 or so of the past 36 have been above. Is there a prize in this?
lol!!
Just the facts baby! Facts don’t lie!
A friend here at work is retiring after 46 years (started two after graduating high school) at the end of this month. She’s been using up as much of her vacation time too. She is a bottomless pit of knowledge and experience. She will be missed greatly.
On a side note, the corn around here is already knee-high.
We are above average to start June with even warmer weather on the way – and potentially more upper 80’s and 90’s. As I guessed in May, it looks like June will likely be another warm month.
Who knew?!??!
