Lots to talk about this morning. At 7am we have a large area of rain with embedded thunder moving across the lake – at this time it appears to have the ability to cover the whole state with wide spread rain should it all hold together. This will only add to the misery after the rain moves out later this morning and the sun comes out.
- We have an Excessive Heat Warning for Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton counties on to the east and south.
- There is a heat advisory for central Michigan.
- There is an Air Quality Alert for Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Allegan and Van Buren Counties.
To make matters worse, if you seek relief on lake Michigan today there will be large waves and rip currents so swimming is not recommended.
We have chances of several rounds of thunderstorms today and tonight – the SPC has us in a marginal risk area for severe weather.
That said, we can expect miserable weather conditions today in regards to the heat and humidity. Temps will reach 90° with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s late this afternoon. These conditions will last through Saturday.
I missed the Weather History post yesterday – I will squeeze it in tomorrow….
