We have gone through two thirds of the summer without a major storm in southwest Michigan. Nothing here but a few rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning. Storm chasers and spotters haven’t had much to do unless they go south of the Michigan border where the weather has been more active.
The older I get the faster time seems to move on – its hard to believe we will be in August next week when the days are getting shorter. Next week is the end of my tenure at Perrigo and I hang up my uniform for the final time – August 6th they will have a retirement party for me. After 36 years I will get to enjoy the fruits of my labor (and 401K) and do those things I enjoy on a full time basis.
I worked in many industries before pharmaceuticals – farming, paper mills, plastics mills, architectural and mechanical drafting and commercial construction. I worked at Plainwell paper before they closed their doors, my father, grandfather and several uncles worked in the paper industry. I will have more on my job at Perrigo later.
A low over southern Ontario will govern our weather today and over the weekend bringing us cooler weather and chances of showers though most of the time it will be dry. Our next good chance of rain will come Tuesday into Wednesday of next week.
