Calm Weather Ahead

posted in: Michigan Weather Forecast | 25

We are now coming into a more ‘pleasant’ weather pattern for this week – we should even see the sun make an appearance later today!  Temps in SW Michigan should be in the mid 30s to near 40 most of the week.  No snowstorms seem apparent at this time.

The main Arctic airmass remains locked in place and is not expected to disrupt anytime soon, so our zonal weather pattern will be our main feature for this week with little expected in the way of precipitation.  Not much to say beyond that except to enjoy it while it lasts.

The CPC 6-10 and 8-14 day forecasts show a sea of red from coast to coast. The golf courses will still be open on Christmas if those forecasts hold. It’s a beautiful thing!!

The new cpc outlooks look good to me for Michigan! Basically it is showing normal temps and a good chance of above normal precip! This could mean some snowstorms! You can go golfing, however I will be skiing!!!!

If you need a good laugh on this Monday, you can pull up Bill’s Blog from a week ago:

“I see another surge of Arctic air starting around December 4-5. That will likely bring some cold temps and perhaps some significant lake effect snow.”

WOOD TV today: “Looks warm through mid December.”

At this time GR is in 2nd place records have been kept here at Grand Rapids since 1892 at 3 different locations first at a downtown location until 1926, then the old airport1926 to 1963 and since 1963 at the current airport. Note the old airport was on 32nd between South Division and Kalamazoo SE. The current record precipitation is 48.80” set in 2008.

For anyone who missed my pics last night, worth posting again….

Drove out to Holland State Park this afternoon to view the water damage and wow, the beach and surrounding areas have been totally changed. Zero snow at all in Holland, in fact the snow ends right about by the newly christened Zeeland roundabout on the West side of town. Light rain and drizzle while we were there, here’s some pics I snapped:
