It has always been my feeling that when all the greenery has left and the leaves have fallen we should have a nice blanket of snow on the ground to cover the death of summer. There is something to be said of the purity of the white which covers the dull browns of the landscape and it also helps set off the colorful lights we put up for the Christmas season.
Alas we have no control over the weather and what surprises it may bring whether it may be a serious snow storm or a pattern of the mundane humdrum of clouds with a few peaks of the sun. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more rain than snow for a good portion of the month especially when we approach mid month. We may see a rather boring pattern over most of the next two weeks. The models are showing only an inch or two of snow over this period and another storm system a week from Friday which is guessing all rain.
Of course this is great news for travelers such as Slim who will be going south this week (have a safe journey). It appears at this time storm systems will be passing well south of Michigan. The good news is we may see more of the sun than we did last month.
Temperatures will hold around freezing this week with slight chances of snow showers today, the best chance will come on Thursday and Friday though I am seeing only minor accumulations due to lack of lift and moisture.
